You’re a natural goal-setter, you’ve probably set yourself up with health and fitness goals in the past, New Years resolutions, tasks to complete for work, maybe even the goal of not doing anything for a certain time. As people that want to move forward and get better, goals are essential to our knowing where we’re going and when we’ll get there.

But how often do you succeed a them? Many of us have a moment where we think we can achieve anything, we’re motivated like never before, so we set ourselves up with lofty goals, only to find we can’t keep that motivation up, it fades, and our goals drift off into a nonexistent future. Don’t let you health and fitness goals do the same. The Huffington Post has 8 tips to help you fight off the demotivation that sets in:

1. Don’t go it alone. There are a variety of support systems that may be integral to your success. If you have medical and/or mental health issues, it’s important to assemble an “A team” of professionals who will support your therapy and recovery. Look to family and friends, too. They’re not there to police or monitor you. Instead, they can provide the love and support you need to stay on track. And don’t forget that pets are “family,” too.

By using all the tools at our disposal, we can keep our goals in line and within our reach. Check out the full article over on the Huffington Post for the other 7 tips.
