The anti-ageing powers of Green Tea

Screen shot 2015-11-05 at 10.55.51 AMGreen tea has been around for a long time, it’s a popular beverage especially for those concerned about their health. While it’s most commonly found in the east, it’s making it’s way into the west, along with meditation, perhaps because more and more science backs up their purported health benefits — of which there are many.

One concern might be the taste. While for some that’s not an issue, whether because they enjoy it or the benefits outweigh that cost. But, I’m also sure that some people refuse to drink it because they don’t like the taste, and that’s fair enough, there are plenty of healthy things that taste like garbage. Fortunately you might be able to use green tea anyway, as now it’s making it’s way into other products. Daily Mail has more:

Now it’s being used here in a host of new beauty products because of its antioxidants properties which help to protect the skin from harmful free radicals.

Because it contains high levels of oligomeric proanthocyanidins – OPCs – some of the most powerful antioxidants, Green Tea is thought to help slow down the premature ageing process if taken internally.

Whether the benefits are the same when you apply Green Tea products externally is yet to be proven but many in the beauty industry believe it does.

The jury is still out on whether the effects are scientifically backed or if it’s pseudo-science, but if it works, you might be able to take advantage of green tea’s benefits without having to drink it. Check out the full post for more info.
